Your task for the lesson is to take THREE fantastic photographs to represent different moods, using lighting and shadows to enhance them. Photoshoot spaces: - studio black background - studio lighting - studio purple background - studio lighting - Darkroom - red light/lamp - food office - lamp/torch - art cupboard - torch - A3 art classroom - whiteboard/projector - project images over the face Upload your photographs to a gallery. Use 3 columns so they aren't too small. Add a title 'Capturing a Mood'. Write a short paragraph above them to explain what you did for this photoshoot and how you have captured a mood or atmosphere in your photos. Also save your best photos to your area so that you have high quality images to work with. Edit your favourite photos to enhance the mood. This should be slight adjustments, not complicated editing at the moment! Think about the mood that you are enhancing - how can you make the shadows stronger or the light softer etc. Experiment with: - saturation of colour - brightness and contrast - curves or levels For this task, upload the original photo and put the edit next to it to make it clear to see the development. Write a short paragraph under/above your edited photos to review this photoshoot. - What did you do? - How did you use lighting and/or shadows? - What did you learn about capturing a mood in photography? For this photoshoot I had to... I found that the lighting needed to be... Something that I have learnt about capturing a mood in photography is... I will develop and build on this in future photoshoots by... Well done for getting everything done!
I'd like you to start getting ready for next week's lessons where you will be experimenting with patterns in photography. Put this on your 'patterns, reflections and symmetry' page please. Either work on a powerpoint or work straight onto the webpage - up to you! Write a plan for your photoshoot on Tuesday to include: - Things you could photograph at school to show patterns with light and shadows - Examples of photos you could try to recreate - Other ideas you have for 'patterns, reflections and symmetry'.
