Collect your red books from the front of the classroom. Put the title 'Self Assessment and Target Setting' on the next page. Review the strengths and areas for development in your most recent work. what is going well, what needs improving, and then set yourself a target for today and over the weekend. What will you achieve by Monday? Continue to work on your experiments.
Lauryn - work with clear photos, in the style of one/both artists. Owen - you are welcome to work in the darkroom OR you could scan your images from yesterday and get them written up. Trinity - continue to edit, and consider your next photoshoot.

Log in to weebly and collect your red book. Remind yourself of anything that is left to do from your feedback... this is your last lesson to make improvements before we move on. 1. Make sure you are ready for Packwood House. 2. Upload your Packwood House planning PowerPoint to your mood/pattern page. 3. Continue to make improvements and add to your projects, focusing on the mood/pattern project. Totally finished?
Focus on your mood/pattern page, and begin another experiment linked to your artist, using a different image. Not sure what to do? If you cant work on your project for some reason, go to this link and have a look at some other students work to see the difference between the grades. What is a concept? What could the concepts be for these images? What is the mood/atmosphere in the image? AO3: Recording ideas this includes photos, notes, sketches, evaluations etc. and is 25% of your marks. Finish your planning page, and bring it with you tomorrow for the trip!
Meet in reception at 12.40 - leave your lesson 5 minutes early if need be so that we can leave straight away. Bring lunch and a coat! and maybe wellies?! Open your website - open up your mood and atmosphere/pattern and symmetry page. Remind yourself of your project and your artists. What photos could you take at Packwood House? (see photos below) Your task for the lesson (plus homework if incomplete) is to plan for your photoshoot next Thursday. You are aiming to take 100+ Photos for either/both projects, but focusing on mood/pattern project! Download and complete the file below, then print. Print to AVA MFD TECH if you want it in colour (change printer properties first!)
Below are the links to the previous A-level students portfolios. You can see the amount of work they had to do to achieve their C/B grades and the specific marks. The grade boundaries are below for 2018 but they go up EVERY year! So expect them to be 2-3 marks harder for each grade. Have a look - what do you notice about the quantity and quality of photoshoots and edits for the different marks? Re-focus your project. Can you stretch out what you have been doing to last until Christmas? For the most of you, the answer will be no. It might make sense to change direction slightly to keep it interesting and to keep your ideas flowing. On paper, plan how you imagine the rest of your project going. There are 14 weeks, what do you think you will do each week to progress your project, so that it is finished by Christmas, ready for moderation and feedback? Try to be specific. You will also need a couple of weeks to write your accompanying essay (1000-3000 words). To do list:
- write up the plan for how you will redirect and refocus your project on a single powerpoint slide. You may choose to include images as examples of what you are talking about - either your own photos or found images. - Start working through your plan, starting with finding and analysing new artist(s) and planning photoshoots in their style. I have marked your two projects over summer and given each of you an action plan for each project. You have 2-3 weeks to complete the two lists and focus on improving your marks for these projects so far, before we move onto completing your Mood and Atmosphere/Pattern project. It is essential that you work independently at this point! Consider the following:For guidance on all of the feedback that I have given, please click the button below. |
