Through this workshop you will learn how to show the passing of time through sky photography.
You will have different options with this, but photo editing will be important, often piecing together different sections of images to suggest time passing.

Homework: Start taking photos of interesting skies. As many as you can! Different colours and weather will create more diverse photo outcomes. |
Task 2: Experiment with creating a time lapse effect in the style of Mark Molloy
Open a sky photo in photoshop.
select the smudge tool - change the settings to size 40 px (fairly small) 0% hardness and around 70% strength. Smudge your image sky in streaks to recreate the effect of Molloy's time lapse. Take your time and think carefully about the direction of your lines - possibly all coming from one area of the photo! |
Do your photoshoot then upload your photos to the computer.
Add your photoshoot plan to the powerpoint. Put all of the original photos onto a powerpoint slide (around 12 to a slide so you can see them properly). Pick your best 3/4/5 photos and put them larger on the next slide. Edit your photos as planned! Upload each one on a separate slide, full size. |
