Please hand in your books for marking at the end of your lesson today. Your next task is to start bringing together your artists styles and techniques through a variety of experiments. You should have a new photoshoot (half term homework) ready to work with, but you can also use some of your previous photoshoots - perhaps both! Explore ways of bringing your photographers together to meet your intentions (what you aim to achieve through this project) through: - use of colour - content within the photos - composition - lighting - locations/backdrops - mood and atmosphere - meaning behind the photo - editing techniques (photoshop/darkroom/ by hand) By next Monday, you should be prepared to hand in/discuss in a tutorial a minimum of 3 edited photographs, each bringing together your artists in different ways to show different ideas and skills. All edits should be presented in your book and annotated. This deadline cannot be extended as you need to start planning and experimenting towards your mock exam next week.

By now you should have chosen 3 photographers, analysed them and presented them in your books. You should also have a set of photographs - either per artist or in general, ready to start editing. Your task this week is to edit at least one photograph in the style of each photographer, so that over half term you can present and annotate them in your book. Your responses should: - use the same/similar techniques, colours, style etc. as your photographer - be your own version, not a copy - include anything you said you would during your analysis of their work 1. Books will be handed in on the first day back after half term for marking. Please ensure that all of the above is complete.
2. Carry out at least one more photoshoot over half term, aiming to take photographs that will be suitable to combine your three artists styles. All due: Monday 27th February - p5. Carry out research to help you choose a question. Make sure you are happy with the question as I'd rather you didn't change your mind later! Once you have chosen, proceed to the following:
Create a mind map of ideas - break down your question as much as you can, with all kinds of ideas, even ideas you have no interest in as it shows you have considered a wide range of concepts. Find 3 photographers to inspire your initial photo shoots - choose 3 that are quite different - different styles, techniques, approaches to the subject etc. - create a research page on each artist, including photos that inspire you most and a paragraph about their work. Discuss their techniques, style, content etc using the formal elements to help structure your comments. Ensure that you include your opinion and how the photographer will inspire you. In your book, present the above with 2 spare pages next to each one - for planning, a contact sheet and edited images/responses. When you have completed the 3 pages, plan for your photo shoots to respond to each photographer. What will you do, where, how? etc. Take these photo shoots asap, ideally before next week so that you can be editing in lessons. |
