Make sure you have uploaded your planning for Hanbury Hall. Underneath, add a title 'Hanbury Hall Photoshoot'. In a gallery below, upload your photos - make sure you don't include any silly photos! Look at this 8 Grade student's work - these are the experiments that she completed linking to 2 artists. What do you notice about the number of experiments and the changes that she makes in each one? This week, you are asked to complete a range of edits (3+) in the style of your newest artist, using your new photographs. Upload each one as you finish it, either side by side with the original OR full size if you think it is particularly good! When you have completed 3 edits in the style of your new photographer, you will be going on to start combining your photographer with either Enrich, Goodden or McNally.
If you are ready, start experimenting with the edits you have just completed and adding the second photo into those, rather than starting a brand new edit.

If you get free school meals, we will have a packed lunch for you. - Bring your camera - make sure it is fully charged, with spare batteries if possible! - We will return to school by 3pm. **If you haven't yet brought your trip letter back - bring it Monday or you wont be able to come!** In preparation for the trip on Tuesday:
1. Research Hanbury Hall. What architecture is there to photograph? 2. Create a powerpoint slide or two with the following on: - title: 'Planning for Hanbury Hall' - Photos of your two chosen artists work to refer to on the day - notes on how you will take photos in their styles - other photographs that might be useful with examples to copy/recreate - tips for taking good photographs of architecture. Eg. different camera angles etc. PRINT THIS OFF with your name on at the end of the lesson and hand in ready to bring with us on Tuesday. Upload your homework photos to a new gallery under the title 'Homework photoshoot in the style of...' (your new artist's name). If you don't have your homework, please email Miss Wilson to explain why. Everyone started an edit last lesson in the style of their new photographer - you may choose to finish this if it was going well, or move straight on to a new edit if you think you can do better. You now need to begin editing your new photos in the style of your new photographer. At the moment the edits are NOT combined - you will go on to this next. If you don't have any new photos with you, please work with old photographs. Upload your edit under your new artist research and the title 'Editing in the style of..' Next, write a couple of sentences to explain HOW your work is inspired by your new artist. I have taken inspiration from the style of... by... Quick discussion:
In pairs - review each other's edits so far... What is working well? What advice or suggestions do you have for each other to improve further? Which of the 3 photographers have you liked most so far? You will choose at least ONE of these photographers to inspire your ideas for the rest of the project, PLUS another of your choice... How to make informed decisions about suitable photographers for your project, considering appropriate level of challenge and how you will combine your artist with the ones you have previously used. Carry out your own research into the artists that interest you (From this list only) then write a paragraph to analyse their work. Work on a powerpoint - one slide. Include a few photos of their work, and their name as the title. Use the sentence starters/prompts to help you with your writing if needed. To analyse a photographer's work, you need to talk about what is in the picture, how they have taken the photograph, camera or editing techniques they have used, how they have used the formal elements (colour, composition, lighting, viewpoint etc), what you like about the work, and how their work could inspire your own photographs. Try to use key words. If you need help getting started, use these sentence starters but write as a paragraph... Artist's Name takes photographs of... He/she takes his/her photos by... This photographer considers formal elements in their work by... Something I like about Artist's Name's photography style is... I could take inspiration from this photographer in my own work by... For the higher marks, you need to demonstrate a really good understanding of the artist's work and techniques, and make thoughtful comments about how you could take inspiration from their work, thinking about how you could be individual rather just copying. Your homework is to take a set of 30+ photographs in different locations in the style of your new photographer - Due Wednesday.
