You need to have a good understanding of how you are marked so that you know how to do well in this subject. Learn how to meet the assessment objectives fully - it will make a massive difference to your marks! Write a detailed blog post about the 4 assessment objectives to refer back to. Include subheadings of each assessment objective, then under each one write:
- What does the assessment objective require? - What should you actually do within it? - What is the difference between the different mark bands? - How do you get the best marks? Create a new page - not inside Skills Development. Call it Journeys (or your chosen title Owen). Begin the lesson by spending 10 minutes on researching how photographers have previously represented this title just using google images. You are learning how to explore a topic through initial research. To be successful, keep your ideas really wide and varied - explore everything you can think of! When choosing images, focus on photographs that inspire you and that might give you ideas later in the project. Create a PowerPoint for researching your first project. Include the following slides: 1. A mind map of everything you can think of that links to your title. Present this as you wish, but break down everything you think of. For example: Walking -> Movement -> Feet -> Mud -> Pathways -> Bridges -> Rivers 2 and 3. Pages of photographs linked to journeys that inspire you. Add a sentence next to each image that explains briefly what it is that inspires you about the image - consider referencing the formal elements and other things you have learnt so far in photography. Save and upload this Powerpoint to the main page of your new project. Next, focus on Pathways. Add a new page with this title. (Owen - select a starting point for your project - choose a small section such as the pathways task from last year). Begin another PowerPoint - same format as previous - add a mind map page of as many ideas linked to Pathways as you can. You might want to break it into the following headings: - Places you find them - Where you might be going - Unusual items found on a pathway - Narratives linked to them - Other? Carry out research. Anything from above that is not complete should be finished for homework and uploaded before Thursday's lesson please.
